springwater cooridor
so im looking at google earth and trying to figure out if the springwater train goes into 224? it looks like it does but im not real sure if it is a private road or not but there is some sort of road or trail that goes to 224. if you want to know more specifics it is at the 212 intersection and richey road and it appears to end at 224 and bakers ferry road. thanks Dan

east end of the Springwater...
...is in Boring. The paved portion of the actually trail ends a few miles to the west. Here's a link to the trail map:

There is discussion about extending the trail east from Boring to Barton Park on 224 (the old rail r-o-w is still there, i guess) but not sure where the status of this is at, currently. Anyone know?

I haven't ridden it, but I heard that the remaining section of the Springwater Cooridor past its official end in Boring to Estacada is indeed rideable. And the condition of it is about the same or maybe a little worse than the condition of the unpaved section between Boring and Gresham.

The one caveat is the bridges that are on this section are either gone or unpassable, so you'd have to portage your bike across the many streams that cross the route. There looks to be a creek on the Boring-to-Barton section, just a little north of 224. From Google Maps it doesn't look that wide, so it might be doable. But looking at a map and carrying a fully loaded bike down a slope, across a creek, and up another slope is another thing.
