Virtual Tour of Portland -routes from everywhere to Portland
:DOver the past couple of years I have researched an extensive number of low-traffic routes from far away areas like Troutdale, Gresham/Boring, Oregon City, and Tigard back into downtown Portland.
Here is the website for those routes. http://www.yourbodypower.org/transpo.../virt-tour.htm A few updates are coming soon. One is a revised route from Tanasbourne http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...Portland138699 the other is a revised route from the Springwater to SE Clinton http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...er-to-Downtown If you have any routes that you particularly like, just email me and I'll see about incorporating them into the site. Aaron - FYI (Tanasbourne into PDX route) the Winthrop Park/Willowcreek trail is fine when it is dry. When those wooden walkways get wet, they are incredibly slick.
I prefer to go (heading east) NW Evergreen, NW Cornell (I think the construction may be complete in my lifetime, but it is rideable.), R on NW 158th, 1st left (TAKE THE LANE), through the office park, through the Tualatin Hills Park and Rec, Pioneer, R on Meadow, BL on Butner, cross Murray, R on Huntington, L on Park Way. |
Hi bikejunkie
I liked bikely.com idea, butr when I tried to map the 60miler I did last night I ran into some problems. It doesn't allow the Spring Water It kept me on main streets - diverting to arterials rather than the small streets we use. The distance was in kilometers Granted, I didn't read the directions. Who does? Do I just need to work with it more? |
