Pearl to SW Capitol Highway
 

Hi,

I'm planning on riding my bike to my soccer game at the Jewish Community Center straight from work. I work in the Pearl. I've never done this ride before and when I mapped it out on ByCycle.org it tells me to take Terwiliger. I thought there was a bike lane on SW Barbur? Could I take SW Barbur there during rush hour or is this not an option?

terwillager is more direct
 

i ride this three times a week, take terwillager, its nicer riding, less traffic, and a nicer ride overall. barbur is fine to ride on too, but the bottom part out of downtown is a little tricky.

Thanks I took a closer look at the map and it looks like the preferable route to Barbur.

Another vote for Terwilliger.

Alternatively, if you *like* hills :-) go up Vista or Montgomery, turn right onto Patton, then down Dosch to, Sunset Blvd. Right on Sunset (nice street, too), dumps you onto Beaverton-Hillsdale in front of Wilson HS. Right on Beaverton-Hillsdale, bear left on SW Capitol Hwy, ride on up, and the MJCC is on your left.

If you are playing soccer, maybe you want to save the hills for afterward.

Yup, thumbs up on this. Watch all the construction around Hilsdale toward the now defunct Donut shop. (man I do miss them maple bars) and the hill going up to the MJCC is a crusher.
