View Full Version : Got Doored ... Atty Advice Needed

I got doored. I got injured - tore all the ligaments in my left shoulder. I'm finally healing but I'm left with my collar bone disconnected and sticking up. Not so pretty.

I don't want to sue but I think the insurance company wants to saddle me with a hospital bill that I can't afford.

This is all new to me. Does anybody have any advice? Should I just get an attorney? Do you know of a reputable one?

Thanks in advance.

Brian

You definitely need to consult with an attorney. Ray Thomas is good, so is Bob Mionske.

Sorry to hear that you got hurt...

I hope that everything turned out OK for you (complete recovery).

I hope that everyone who reads this goes to a *FREE* BTA (http://bta4bikes.org) Bikes and the Law clinic. It really helps to know what to do BEFORE you are hurt.

The clinic is often hosted by Ray Thomas of Swanson, Thomas and Coon (http://stc-law.com) fame. He wrote the book "Pedal Power" which is provided free of charge at the clinic, or you can download it in a PDF format from his website.

It was this information that helped me out when I was charged w/reckless driving following a bike crash in August (http://bikeportland.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1307), and what to do after I was hurt in a crash back in October (http://bikeportland.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1262).

I PRAY that everyone out there will be safe and healthy
Rubberside down!
