Hi.
While shopping for a used bike trailer, I find plenty of the kind to carry kids. However, I'm looking for something to carry stuff. Does anyone know if a kid trailer can easily be converted to a cargo trailer? I mean, can seats be easily removed or adjusted to open up space inside? I want a trailer with open, covered space and a firm floor. Thanks!

I have a Burley D'Lite, which could easily hold a lot of cargo. But it has a divider where the child sits, with cargo area behind it. I don't think I could put that down. I'll have a look at it when I get home and see if it's possible. It would be a really expensive cargo trailer, though. they really keep their resale value, and used ones are pricey. I've seen cheaper kid trailers at CostCo, but I have no idea about quality.

I have one of these (http://www.trek.ubc.ca/programs/cancart/index.html), and I might be persuaded to let go of it...make me an offer. :)

You can remove the seat the sit in some kids trailers, the Burleys are one that you can. The base of the kids trailers aren't really designed for cargo though and I don't think it would be flat (like a cargo trailer), some of the seat mounting hardware would probally be in the way too. Burley does make two cargo trailers; the "Nomad" and the "Flat Bed", Bob makes one as well.
