Route suggestion from Portland (NW) to Woodland WA? I have a dinner invite Saturday night with a ride home by auto w/ bike rack. Would prerfer to bike there in honor of Earth Day activies.
It would be especially nice after the pedaling to use their outdodor hot tub - :)
Distance by I-5 is about 40 miles. Hoping to find an interesting alternative < 60 miles. Appreciate your ideas on this

Jonathan, there's a route posted on Michael Wolfe's website (http://escapevelocipede.blogspot.com/2006/08/792005-longview-loop-120-miles.html)- description with a link to gmaps pedometer at the bottom. Haven't ridden it myself, but Michael knows what he's doing.

route prpoposed very much same suggested by bike shop in Vancouver.
If I were more ambitiout I would do the reverse of the RACK ride on the west side to Ridgefield and then cross I-5 and then old 99 (or equivlenat) north to Woodland.
If the weather is anyathing like today, even the nosiy boring parts through Vancouver Hazeld dell shouldn't be too discouraging. And assuming I make my destination, my freinds will likely suggest Ii use their hottub (or at least their shower!)
