Need advice on route from Hillsdale to 82nd ave. Once over the Hawthorne bridge my sense of bike direction gets fuzzy. I do most of my riding on the west side of town. Thanks for any and all feedback!

There are about a zillion different ways you could make that trip. Here's one option that I'd try because it's a pleasant route that is on boulevards and lots of pretty streets with very few cars. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=682857.

You could also stop by the Portland Building on your way and pick up some free bike maps. Just come to the 8th floor and you should be able to get what you need for free.

Enjoy the ride.

Norse, this is a little longer than the way suggested by Greg, but it offers somewhat less of a climb over Mt. Tabor. Also, it may be a little easier to follow, as most of it is just running straight out Se Harrison/Lincoln. Plus, the circle at Ladd & the rose garden are a cyclist's delight.

Greg, if you haven't tried this bikely.com mapper, give it a whirl. Far superior to the gm-ped, what with the ability to add cues & comments.
