What a friendly bunch!

I usually wave or ring my bell in greeting to oncoming cyclists along the bike routes and bike boulevards and only occasionally get a response. But, last night among the other winter-hardy commuters along NE Tillamook, waving was the rule and not the exception. It was dark, and windy, and wet, but several riders in a row raised their left hand in greeting.
Thanks to all of you, who-ever you are. It really made my night.

I think the correlation between waves and degree of bad weather is pretty strong. I even get a few verbal "hey's" or "good evenings." Rare things these are.

I try to give a smile and a head nod, or wave with my left hand. And at lights I'll ask how, ya doin. I also like to wave to cars when they let me go by before they turn right. Or when a oncoming car lets me go, or stop when he sees me coming, when hes turning left in front of me.
