Last spring, the first Local Innovations Bicycle Ride was held during the second weekend of the Village Building Convergence.

This free, fun ride visited locations in Portland that had achieved environmentally, architecturally and culturally significant innovation in the last year. At each stop, there was be a speaker who was central to the innovation.

Here's a flyer:

Here's a route map: http://www.pdxcityclub.org/documents/InnovationsRideMap.pdf

and an itinerary from last year's ride:

I'd like to see it happen again, but would love to work on it with a larger team. Would anyone be interested in working together to plan this year's ride? I think we'd need to set up a Google Map where people can identify locations they think would be interesting to visit (we'd also need to know some background on why they think the spot is innovative and a suggested speaker about the innovation). Then, we could build a route from the input. With that in mind, is there anyojne who knows how to use Google Maps API who would be interested in designing a map like that?

I'd like to propose that we meet on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00. Let's meet at Sound Grounds on the corner of 37th and Belmont. If you're interested, please reply to this post.

Thanks.
