I've tried many over the years with disposable batteries, and most seem to twizzle too soon, lose their lumens, and become useless. I just ordered a 700 lumen Light and Motion Seca 700 Race, hoping it may prove useful for my nightly commutes.
Perhaps it's overkill for my needs: I ride home from work -- near 181st and Sandy -- to Hollywood, at 11 p.m., M-F. However, if it keeps lit, charges easy, and actually lights up the paths and direction of travel, I'm cool with the pricey part.
Thanks to all that've detailed their use with and suggestions for reflectors (active and passive). I've included such in my cadre of safety gear for night riding.
