View Full Version : Bike Maintenance Classes at the Community Cycling Center!

Intermediate Maintenance Class (IM02), Sept. 11 – Oct. 9, 7 - 9 pm $130

This class is for folks confident in their riding and basic maintenance skills and interested in learning the mechanics of bike maintenance in more depth. Over five weekly sessions, we will cover all the skills required to complete six-month and annual maintenance and repairs including cable housing, freewheel, cassette, and chain replacements. All participants will work on their own bikes in class.

Advanced Maintenance Class (AM02), Oct. 16 – Nov. 13, 7 – 9:30 pm $150

This class is for folks that have completed Intermediate Bicycle Maintenance and are interested in learning in-depth advanced bike mechanics. Over five weekly sessions, we will cover the skills needed for hub, bottom bracket, and headset overhauling; as well as advanced wheel truing and spoke replacement. All participants will work on their own bikes in class.

Free Drop-In Clinics, Every Sat. and Sun. through Aug. 24, 10 am - 11 am
Learn basic adjustments, preventative maintenance, and how to fix a flat tire so you can keep your bike in good working order.

Free Family Fun Rides, Aug. 24 and Sept. 14, 10 am – 12 pm
Join us for a fun, family-oriented Sunday bicycle ride! The free rides will be paced so even the youngest ones have a great time. Become familiar with Portland’s bicycle-friendly streets and get your family rolling, together! Registration is required, but the ride is free.
