Hi,
I haven't been bikibg for awhile, but I am between cars, and frankly, would prefer not to own any infernal combustion engine. I am interested in sailing on the Columbia and so need to bike along Marine Drive from Portland Road as far as about 43rd as late as 10PM.
I have always tried to avoid Marine Drive east of Gatenbein.
I would like to know other opinions. on this stretch of road. An alternative might be to take 39th, or whater the road is that cuts through from Columbia Blvd. However I do not like the looks of the overpass over Columbia that supposedly has a bike lane.
Could I get opinions from others of the safety of these areas at night?
