Forecast for this Sunday is cloudy, 60% rain, 53 deg F.

Ride Levels: Easy, Intermediate

There will be an Easy Loop nested within an Intermediate Ride.
Cyclists may join or leave the ride at any point along the path.

Ride accompanied by bike mechanics. Our club Code of Conduct asks each
member to do their best to assist other participants in need during
ride events.

Sequence of Group Ride Events on Sunday March 26th, ALL TIMES ARE
ESTIMATES:

1:00 PM
Pre-ride free safety-check & mini-tune at Eastbank Esplanade Madison
Street Parking Lot. UBI certified mechanic(s) will be available with
tools & bike stand.

2:00 PM
Both Intermediate and beginner Ride Groups assemble at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street
Parking Lot.

2:10 PM
Both intermediate and beginners will depart from Madison Plaza at 2pm
Travel south on the Esplanade to Caruthers. Take Caruthers to the the Springwater Corridor. Continue south on the Springwater and go underneath the Sellwood Bridge.
**Easy riders will break off and cross the Sellwood bridge, turn north on the trail and continue north through Willamette Park returning to Portland via the Esplanade.
Intermediate riders turn onto Umatilla and go up the hill.
From Umatilla, go south/Right at 17th Ave, 17th veers left and crosses
99E at Harrison. Turn right at 99E, there is construction of new ped path on the sidewalk, but unfinished. Go south on 99E. Turn right on SE 22nd Ave. There is a sign here the shows "To River
Road".
Go south on 22nd Ave. 22nd Ave veers left onto Sparrow Street for half a block then turn Right onto SE River Road. Take River Rd all the way south to where it forks, on left is SE Glen Echo Ave., on Right is River Road. Make right turn to continue on River Rd. River Rd ends at Arlington St. Turn Left onto Arlington St. and then right at Clackamas Blvd. Veer right into Cross Park.
At end of Cross Park, turn right and take the Pedestrian/bike-only bridge to cross over the Clackamas River.
Turn right after Bridge onto Washington St. Pass 3 houses on your right. After last house, (15751 Washington) and before Pope Ln, there is a paved bike path on right. This is the Clackamas River Trail (unmarked).
Turn Right onto this Clackamas River Trail. Beautiful river view. It ends at Main Street.
Turn Right onto Main Street. the road goes north, around to south and becomes Clackamas Drive.
You will see Jon Storm Park & Boat Ramp on right. Willamette River is on your right.
When Clackamas Drive ends in a parking lot, there is a bike path on the left, it runs along 99E and it's fenced in. Take this bike path. Continue on the path until it ends and cross 99E at the
crosswalk then go south/left onto 10th St. Use crosswalk again to get to
southbound of 10th St.
Turn Right/West onto Main St. Then turn Right/North onto 7th St. Continue onto the Old Oregon City-West Linn Bridge on 7th St and enjoy the wonderful View of Willamette Falls on left.
Turn Right at Willamette Falls Drive after bridge. Road veers left and becomes Highway 43.
Stay on Highway 43 thru West Linn. Pass downtown Lake Oswego on Highway 43 (State Street). After crossing A Ave., prepare to move into the left lane.
Turn left at SW Terwilliger Blvd. Be aware that Terwilliger is very hilly but the views are more than worth it. COntinue downhill to the end of Terwilliger. Make a right at the light and go past the park. Terwilliger becomes 6th Ave. CAUTION - As you cross the freeway on 6th ave be sure to merge to the left side of the street to avoid being squeezed by the merging freeway ramp. Stay on 6th ave to Madison and cross the Hawthorne Bridge.
Take Hawthorn bridge back to Madison Plaza.

This is a good chance to test out your bicycle, safety equipment, ride
clothing, and tool kits.

We recommend bringing the following gear:

Helmet
Wireless Phone
Gloves
Hooded jacket or head covering
Rain gear if necessary
Riding glasses
Tool pouch/multi-tool
Frame Pump or CO2 Inflator/Cartridges
Spare tubes/Patches
Water bottles or Hydration pack
Light Snack
Bike: (Preferrably with fenders in case of rain)

Both rides will be led by United Bicycle Institute certified
mechanics; no rider left behind.

All riders will need to sign a Liability Release Agreement before
departure. Under 18 riders please be accompanied by an adult.

This ride is sponsored by the Community Exchange Cycle Touring Club, a
global non-profit organization with the goal of connecting diverse
world communities through reciprocated exchange bicycle tours.

**Easy riders will break off and cross the Sellwood bridge, turn north
on the trail and continue north through Willamette Park. From the park turn onto SW Beaver Ave and turn left on Nebraska St. Continue to SW Corbette Ave and take that to the top of the hill. After crossing the highway, turn left on SW Kelly Ave and follow it to the end. Turn right onto SW Barbur Blvd and follow Barbur to downtown. *CAUTION* Be sure to merge to the left side of the road as you get to the highway to avoid being squeezed by the highway onramp. Stay on SW 4th Ave to Market Street and turn right onto the Hawthorne Bridge. Take the bridge back to Madison plza
