Weather report 55 degrees with 60% chance of rain
All rides meet at Madison Plaza at the East Bank esplanade just north of the Hawthorne Bridge

Sequence of Events on Sunday April 2nd, ALL TIMES ARE ESTIMATES:

1:00 PM
Pre-ride free safety-check & mini-tune at Eastbank Esplanade Madison
Street Parking Lot.

2:00 PM
Intermediate Ride Group assemble at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street
Parking Lot.

2:10 PM
Intermediate Ride Group departs. Cross the Hawthorne Bridge and follow the west esplanade north.
Be awaare of a detour beneath the Burnside bridge.
At the large sculpture space turn onto NW Couch.
Go north on Couch to NW 13th Ave.
Turn right on 13th and head to Overton.
Ride north on Overton to NW 18th and turn right
Take 18th a few blocks and turn left on Thurman
Ride on Thurman to 27th and turn left on NW Vaughn
Vaughn merges into Nickolai Street.
Stay on Nickolai street until it becomes St. Helens Road.
Continue on St. Helens Road past the St. Johns Bridge
Follow the signs to Sauvie's Island
Meet at the parking lot at the base of the Sauvie's Island Bridge

3:00-3:30 PM
Easy Ride Group joins northbound Intermediate Ride Group at the Sauvie's Island parking lot.
Both groups ride the Sauvie's Island loop.
Return to Sauvie's Island parking lot.

Advanced group returns to Madison plaza via the same route.


This is an ideal ride to test out your bicycle, safety equipment, ride
clothing, and tool kits.

We recommend bringing the following gear:

Helmet
Wireless Phone
Gloves
Hooded jacket or head covering
Rain gear if necessary
Riding glasses
Tool pouch/multi-tool
Frame Pump or CO2 Inflator/Cartridges
Spare tubes/Patches
Water bottles or Hydration pack
Light Snack
Bike: (Preferrably with fenders in case of rain)

Both rides will be led by United Bicycle Institute certified
mechanics; no rider left behind.

All riders will need to sign a Liability Release Agreement before
departure.

This ride is sponsored by the Community Exchange Cycle Touring Club, a
global non-profit organization with the goal of connecting diverse
world communities through reciprocated exchange bicycle tours.

The Intermediate Group meets and departs from Madison Plaza around 2pm. Total distance of Intermediate Ride is about 33 miles.

The Easy Group meets and departs with the Intermediate Group from the parking lot of Cracker Barrel Grocery at 15005 NW Sauvie Island Rd. (phone: 503-621-3960), immediately on left of road after Sauvie Island Bridge, at around 3pm.
Total distance of Easy Group ride is about 12 miles.
