View Full Version : Vandalism of Parked Bike at SE 2nd & Salmon

On Saturday, August 18, 2007 at around 1:00 I saw a bike locked to a parking sign post next to a building at the southeast corner of SE 2nd & Salmon. The front wheel of the bike had obviously been rammed by a vehicle, as it was bent around the curb. The wheel was totally destroyed. I don't see any way this could have been an accident, as the nearest parking space was 12 feet away and the bike itself was a good 12 feet from both streets.

It's really upsetting to think that someone would vandalize a bike like this. The bike was a green Eddie Bauer Vortex. MacForce had a large outdoor event going on in their parking lot across the street that day starting at 10:00 a.m. so there were a lot of people around. Of course, I don't know how long the bike had been parked there or when the damage occurred. And the people at MacForce had their attention focused in the opposite direction.

Don't know whose bike it was or how they got home. Bummer.
