I'm thinking about getting one of those Xtracycle rear hub extension kits for my mountain bike. It's the kind with the saddle bags on the side and that skateboard looking thing on the top? I've seen a few people around town with them, but have not been in a spot where I could stop them and ask how they liked the set-up.
Anybody out there who has one or knows somebody who has one and has any feedback?
Thanks for your help.

Graham: I've been riding one for the last five years now, and it rules. My other bikes are languishing in the garage, because I only ride them when the Dreadnought is broken down (rarely, and never for long). It is fun, comfortable, stable, and versatile. It gets tremendous respect in traffic compared to "normal" bikes (or little bikes, as I have come to think of them). It allows me to carrry passengers, other bikes, furniture, groceries, and things I haven't even thought of yet. For more detailed info, try: http://www.rideyourbike.com/xtracycle.html Try it; you won't regret it!

Thanks, Val, for your input. I was really leaning towards one, but am now sure about the decision. Thank you for the information.
