Need low-cost bike, short-term

Hey Portland,

My soon-to-be wife and I are visiting town on our honeymoon later this month. (Arriving via Amtrak and staying east of the river.)

We'll need some around-town transportation and we're looking to rent bikes for a few days or maybe even buy some beaters to use briefly and then re-sell or donate back to a good cause.

Can anyone recommend how this might be accomplished?

Some shops do rentals here. Among them is Citybikes Workers' Cooperative (http://www.citybikes.coop/rentals.html). It'd be $55 bux for three days. You can reserve in advance.

I'll certainly rent you my lightly-used commuter bike for a nominal price. ;)

do you want good road bikes or just cruisers to get around on? you could score a couple of cheapie bikes off of craigslist for about 100 bucks or you can rent a decent road bike for around 80 bucks for three days. check out this shop on the east side.
