The Cycle Exchange Touring Club is at it again. This time we're going from the mountain to the river.

Forecast for this Sunday is mostly sunny, 10% rain, 52 deg F.

Ride Levels: Easy, Intermediate

There will be an Easy Loop nested within an Intermediate Ride. Cyclists may join or leave the ride at any point along the path.

Ride accompanied by bike mechanics. Our club Code of Conduct asks each member to do their best to assist other participants in need during ride events.

Sequence of Group Ride Events on Sunday March 19th, ALL TIMES ARE ESTIMATES:

1:00 PM
Pre-ride free safety-check & mini-tune at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot. UBI certified mechanic(s) will be available with tools & bike stand.

2:00 PM
Intermediate Ride Group assembles at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot.

2:10 PM
Intermediate Ride Group departs. Ride east along the Hawthorne Bridge then turn left onto Ladd’s Addition and circle around the center park turning onto SE Harrison. Take Harrison (which becomes Lincoln) straight to Mt. Tabor. Ride once to the top and enjoy the views. We return back to the esplanade along the same route.

The easy riders assemble at Eastbank Esplanade Madison Street Parking Lot. New riders sign Liability Release Agreements.

3:15 PM
Both groups depart. North along Eastbank Esplanade, enjoy wonderful views of downtown, head to the Steel Bridge and across.
Continue south along the Westside path and through Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Pass underneath the Hawthorne Bridge towards the South Waterfront. Head onto the street and make a left on SW Montgomery.
Turn right at the end of the road and make a quick jog at SW Moody.
Follow Moody through the developing South Waterfront district until the road ends.
At SW Hamilton Ct turn left and enter the recreation path which continues to Williamette Park.

Rest stop at Willamette Park, enjoy the wonderful view.

Return along the recreational path to SW Moody and follow Moody back to the Esplanade. Then head over to the Lucky Lab at SE 9th and Hawthorne meet at 5pm.

ALL TIMES ARE ESTIMATES.

This is a good chance to test out your bicycle, safety equipment, ride clothing, and tool kits.

We recommend bringing the following gear:

Helmet
Wireless Phone
Gloves
Hooded jacket or head covering
Rain gear if necessary
Riding glasses
Tool pouch/multi-tool
Frame Pump or CO2 Inflator/Cartridges
Spare tubes/Patches
Water bottles or Hydration pack
Light Snack
Bike: (Preferrably with fenders in case of rain)

Both rides will be led by United Bicycle Institute certified mechanics; no rider left behind.

All riders will need to sign a Liability Release Agreement before departure. Under 18 riders please be accompanied by an adult.
