According to Midnight Mystery Ride (MMR) founder Ayleen Crotty, last Friday’s ride was the largest ever. 135 people showed up and took over the streets of North Portland.

Last night, hundreds of free-spirited pedalers (including me!) crammed into an old industrial building on the Burnside Bridge for an epic party. It was the Pedalpalooza Kick-off Dance Party and World Naked Bike Ride all rolled into one.

Amy, Bethany and the Mocktails volunteer crew were out on the Hawthorne Bridge last Friday to serve drinks and snacks to homebound commuters. This is the after-work version of the well-known Breakfast on the Bridges tradition started by Shift to Bikes.

Pedalpalooza debuted in grand style at last night’s Kickoff Parade. No one got an official count but I’d guess somewhere around 150-200 people showed up.

The Bike Gallery dusted off some BMX memorabilia for their Bucks for BMX movie benefit. Held last night at the Bagdad Theater in Southeast Portland, the event was a fundraiser for the soon-to-be constructed Glenhaven Skate and BMX Park.

I just realized that today’s events last literally all day. From an early 7:00am start for Breakfast on the Bridges to a Midnight Mystery Ride, which has been known to last till 7:00am.

Pedalpalooza Parade route and advisory

Just a quick update on tonight’s Pedalpalooza Kickoff Parade.
Remember that because of Rose Fest activities several bridges might be closed for extended periods of time and due to construction on Naito things are pretty ugly right now. So if you’re headed downtown from the Eastside, either give yourself plenty of time to get down [...]

Pedalpalooza poster unveiled

Local artist, cyclist, historian, and general renaissance man Shawn Granton has just unveiled the much anticipated Pedalpalooza poster. The official poster will be done up right by Stumptown Printers but isn’t ready just yet.
In the meantime, Shawn sent me a hi-res version that I strongly recommend you print it out, stick in your cubicle [...]
