The big US Gran Prix of Cyclocross comes to Portland this weekend and local mechanic Jason Pfeifer wants to be your mechanic. Pfeifer — the man behind SimpleBicycle.com, a service we mentioned back in August — is now offering professional pit mechanic services to anyone who's competing.

As we shared last week, the 2010 River City Bicycles Cross Crusade wrapped up on Sunday with a final showdown at Barton Park in Estacada. Our ace photographer David Haines was there and brought back some great photos of the action. They're a fitting tribute to another epic Cross Crusade:

By all accounts, yesterday's opening event of the Cross Crusade cyclocross series out at Alpenrose Dairy was an immense success. The number of racers, 1,506, was yet another a single-day participation record (last year 1,438 racers showed up).

Rapha Performance Roadwear, whose North American headquarters are in North Portland, has partnered with Focus Bicycles USA to field a professional cyclocross team for the 2010-2011 season. The Rapha-Focus Team will consist of young up-and-coming racers Chris Jones (Auburn, California) and Zach McDonald (Seattle, Washington).
