Friday, September 23rd

Explore the City by Bike – 2:30 pm at the PSU Bike Hub (1818 SW 6th Ave)
What better way to celebrate Viking Days at Portland State than to saddle up to your steel horse and explore downtown? If you don’t have a bike, grab an orange bike share and have at it. More info here.

Saturday, September 24

Ninkrossi – 8:30am at Washougal MX Park, Washougal, WA
Cross is here. Race #4 of 5 of the Gran Prix Brad Ross. Racing starts at 8:40am, continues all day, and includes a free non-competitive Kiddie Kross slot for riders under 9 yrs. More info.

The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic – 8:30am in Waldport, OR
Two courses offer a choice of challenge and punishment amidst the raw beauty of the ancient Siuslaw National Forest. After the race you’ll be rewarded with complimentary food and beer. The Oregon Coast Gravel Epic is the final event of the Oregon Triple Crown Series of events. More info.

Alice Awards – 5:30pm at The North Warehouse (723 N Tillamook St)
The biggest fundraiser of the year for the BTA, soon to be rebranded The Street Trust. Come out to support the Alice Award winners, try your luck in the raffle, eat, drink, and support the BTA during the silent auction. They’ve even added an after party this year with gold sprints and the new branding reveal. More info.

Sunday, September 25

Harvest Century – 6:30am Begins at Hillsboro Civic Center (E Main St. and 1st Ave)
25-, 45-, 75-, and 100-mile routes, all of which pass through Yamhill valley wineries and glimpse breathtaking views of Mt. Hood and the coast range. All proceeds from the ride go to Community Vision, a nonprofit that helps people with developmental disabilities. More info.

Battle at Barlow Cyclocross Race – All day at Sam Barlow High School (5105 SE 302nd Ave, Gresham)
barlowThe Battle at Barlow is best known for its challenging, railroad tie stepped run-up and long off-camber section, but overall the course could be described as euro-style: fast, with ample room to pass. A bike will also be raffled to benefit Barlow High School. More info.

Cycling Against Hate – 2pm meet at Killingsworth St & NE 9th
On September 13 a cyclist committed a racially-motivated hate crime against a grandmother, mother and three children in NE Portland. In response, Taz Loomans has organized this demonstration of solidarity. The ride will be short and slow, and new riders are encouraged to join. More info.
