Metro announced $533,000 in Regional Travel Options grants today. According to Metro, the federally-funded grants are given to projects that “reduce the number of people driving alone to improve air quality and address community health issues.”
Grant winners this cycle include a wide range of projects — from bike parking to “transportation mobility counseling.” One award that catches my eye is $53,000 for Sunday Parkways out in Wilsonville.

Interesting!..Congratulations to these programs I’m sure they will effectively use the grants. I’m not seeing anymention of, Gresham, Milwaulkie, Troutdale though..Oh! that’s right no one bikes east of eighty-second, just wondering who it is that causes congestion on I-84 banfield.
Very nice! Tigard is really stepping up (no pun intended) their active transportation, with last year’s bike map and this year’s walking map. I’m glad to be a part of it!
And– Good job, Wilsonville!!! I’m interested in seeing how it works– you guys can be the shining light example to the rest of the SW Burbs.
Now, you and Tualatin need to get together to finish the trail between you two that you guys have been talking about! I’d love to ride to Wilsonville from Tigard– getting from Tigard to Tualatin is easy. It’s the part between Tualatin and Wilsonville that’s not so easy (yet).
