Been another crazy week here on the site. After you’ve caught up with all the stories and great comment threads going on, I know a lot of you have big bike adventures planned. As per usual, this post is meant for you to share your plans.

It’s the Fourth of July weekend, the sun is finally (I think/hope) out for good, the Tour de France starts today — it’s a good weekend to be a bike lover.

Are you watching the Tour? If so, where? Are you planning a big ride? Or perhaps you’re just rolling to the market? See something interesting out there? Chime in and share it with the rest of us in the comments below….

I enjoyed a beautiful 50 mile ride in the southern Willamette Valley along Fall Creek this morning, and just finished watching the TdF with my lunch at home. It’s nice that Versus channel shows the stage a few times, I can usually manage to see one of the broadcasts.

Was thinking of leading a ride to the Statue of Liberty in Milwaukie, which is in front of my cousin’s glass shop. If there’s any interest, post up here and let me know. Maybe we’ll do it.

I rode from Lents Park to 122nd on Holgate, had some delicious tacos at Dos Amigos, which is right on the corner of 122nd and Holgate. Then, we took 122nd over to Tina’s Corner and had pie for dessert.

Tomorrow, I’m riding over to the Farmers’ Market at 92nd and Foster. Nothing – big, I do it every week, but it’s nice ride.

Hey, John Chandler, proprietor of Oblique Coffee Roasters on the corner of SE 30th Place and Stark! We have shown every single world cup match live, and we will be showing every single TDF stages live, and we will be replaying the stages throughout the day as they occur on Versus. One thing we have that no one in town has is twin 47″ LCD 240mhz / 1080p flatscreens, and we roast all our coffee in up close and personal in an 1891 Victorian Mercantile that’s painted Bianchi celeste!!! Holy cow!!! Spread the word!!! Come hang out!!! http://www.obliquecoffeeroasters.com for more info!

Rode up & down Springwater across the I-205, AKA Woody Guthrie Highway (after all, this land is your land), Johnson creek, etcetera. Just keeping track of the changing foliage, the repaving progress and the hobo haunts here and there. And pretending I’m an inter-urban train or whatever.

Get ready, summer comes finally, furiously, & fer sure this week.

Biked with a friend from St Johns to OMSI to watch the fireworks. The last bit on the Esplanade was very slow with some interesting exercises in walking a bike through dense crowds.

It was good to see the huge number of bicycles at the event, and all the bikes out at midnight on the ride back home.

Not so good was seeing several bicyclists without lights or reflectors, some in dark clothing. Maybe they are going for Darwin Awards?

Currently breakfasting at the spacious Polk County Fairgrounds. Off to Corvalis then Eugene and back. Hiker/biker park sites are nice. New one just opened at Willamette Mission state park. Salem needs help with the bike sidepath along 22. Yea bikes!

I biked to Govt Camp via the Historic Columbia River River Highway –> 35 & back through Sandy. It was my longest ride ever – 12 hours! And it was my first time on that route. It was a great ride, and the roads were relatively empty. Next time I think I’ll break it into two days & bring camping gear.

Independence Day weekend lives on!

Join us at Doug Fir tonight for Team Beer Goldsprints. Bring a friend to challenge to racing or doing a shooter and then racing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ9IXGPYirU

My band CrankMyChain! will be performing race music and we’ll do a set of songs after they announce the winners around 9pm.
