2 weeks of bike fun!

Lots of good stuff on tap today including a Columbia River Gorge ride, GPS art project, Waterfront starting points for skaters/beginners/tutu wearing foodies all topped off by the Midnight Ridazz playland romp.

7:00am Sisyphean Cruller Crawl – West
I nice morning ride may be just the thing. Especially if it starts at NW 10th/Johnson and climbs the west hills for donuts and coffee.

7:00am Free Coffee for Bikers!
Coffee, coffee, coffee: Bingo Coffee Masters on NE 11th and Alberta has enough to give away. Show your helmet until 3pm for a java freebie.

7:30am Gorge Ride
Fuel up at the Bipartisan cafe on 79th and Stark from 7:30-8:30 in hungry anticipation of your ride to the Columbia Gorge. If you can’t make it to breakfast, you can meet at 9:30 at the 197th St/Burnside MAX station to join the tour. Returns late afternoon. Overnight option available.

12:00pm Authors + Bikes; a bike brown bag
Take a lunch break with three local bikey authors, Mia Birk, Joe Kurmaskie and Jeff Mapes. 2nd floor of Portland Bldg. 1120 SW 5th.

5:30pm Carfree Happy Hour
A monthly meeting at Floyd’s in Old Town. (118 NW Couch). All are welcome.

6:00pm GPS Art by Bike
Put that technology to use: Make art! Meet at Col Summers, ride to create a drawing with your GPS device then reconvene, compare and vote.

6:00pm Tutu Food Cart Ride
Sport that lonely tutu and roll over to Salmon St. Fountain to hit a medley of food carts. Bring eatin’ money.

6:30pm Waterfront Bikes Beginners Ride
Waterfront Bikes at 10SW Ash is hosting this ride tailored for the beginner and /or families. Some free rental bikes w/helmets available. Contact craig(at)waterfrontbikes.com to reserve.

7:00pm Skate Critical Mass
Ankeny water fountain is the gathering spot for this small wheeled evening roll. BYO skates, boards, blades and lights if you plan go late.

7:00pm Obscure NE Ride
Explore outer Northeast with an experienced ride leader. Meet at Gateway Transit Center, NE 99th and Multnomah.

8:00pm Bike Tour Slideshow
Join Aaron Tarfmann at the Bike Temple (60 NE Tillamook) for a slideshow of bike tours past.

9:00pm MIDNIGHT RIDAZZ Ride
Pioneer Square, (it’s Portland’s living room, y’know) is the spot to hook up for this late night play themed ride. Bring your bestest childlike attitude and stay out way past bedtime. Mom would want you to bring lights.
