Speaking of bikes on the radio…

Given our experience with a shock jock condoning violence against people on bikes, I (like everyone else) have been following with interest the Lance Armstrong/Tony Kornheiser flap.

I might chime in with more thoughts about that next week, but for now, I thought I’d share what’s happening on the radio here in Portland.

For the past several months, myself and the fine folks at Entercom Radio have been working on a partnership between BikePortland.org and their 94.7 FM radio station. Today we recorded the intro spot for the campaign that will start running on the air next week.

Have a listen below and stay tuned for more details next week:

Congrats on the 94.7 spot. Exciting.

Bummer about the Tony Kornheiser situation, especially since it happened on D.C. station the last day of the National Bike Summit.

Now if we could only convince 94.7 to get rid of ads entirely. You know, so it’s more like Sirius.

BikePortland “On The Air”. It’s long overdue. So, lets get ready for Portland’s own “BikePortland TV”. We all know the viewership would be through the roof.

Cool, BikePortland and 94.7; what a great collaboration

BTW, Kornheiser has a long history of being a bitter, bitter self-serving hack*

*I think it’s partly because he’s so physically repulsive

Yeah, I’d be down with BikePortland TV. I can TiVo it and skip the ads.

KINK would have been a better match. They support more bike events in the area.

Congrats Jonathan!

KINK listeners still have the knees left to ride? ;o)

Seriously, though, KNRK is a better fit than KINK: The idea is to NOT preach to the choir.
