Word from our friends at the Portland State University Bicycle Advocacy Collective (PSUBAC) is that they’re kicking off 2010 with free ‘Breakfast for Bikers’ every day this week.

From 9:00 to 11:00 am, you’ll be treated to pastries, coffee and other snacks: All you have to do is show up with your bike (and your own mug). They’ll be set up near the cycle track on SW Broadway at Harrison through Thursday and on Friday they’ll be at the newly opened PSU Bike Hub on the SW corner of SW 6th and Harrison.

Also on Friday, they’ll raffle away (tickets are $1 and you get one for showing up) a Chrome messenger bag, a set of studded bike tires, and other prizes. Proceeds from the raffle go toward the PSU VikeBikes Bicycle Loan Program, a project that aims to provide long term bike rentals to students.

And yes, there’s a ton of exciting bike stuff going on at Portland State University these days. Stay tuned for coverage of their new Bike Hub and new bike parking garage.

Unfortunately nothing is “FREE”…somebody has to pay somewhere down the line probably in way of increased student fees, tuition, or textbooks.

Drew – I don’t think the scones and donuts are vegan but the bananas are.

Actually it is “FREE”… we pickup donations from local bakeries…donated food = free… unless you really wanna get existential over “FREE” breakfast.
