We’re putting up the weekend guide up a little early this week to help you all make your plans.
Get the weekend started tonight with Clever Cycles’ Heels on Wheels party. Dress up as fancy as you like and come check out their new lines of stylish women’s clothing, with discounts.
The famous Human Powered Vehicle Challenge comes to Portland all weekend! Check out these specially engineered, pedal-powered contraptions on display and in speed and endurance challenges.
If you aren’t at the speed event on Saturday, head for the hills on a “Bike Boulevard Boogie” with the Easy Riders and special guest expert Greg Raisman, or head over to Southeast to check out the Low Car Diet Clinic
On Sunday, get the season started with Carye Bye’s annual Pretty Dress Ride. Bring a picnic; or if it’s raining, bring cash for cake at Palio’s. Everyone is welcome; pretty dresses are required.

If you’re going to be in the mid-valley on Sunday there is a ride to show support for the Albany to Corvallis bike path. Meet up at the Corvallis waterfront park about 11:30, roll out at noon. The destination is the Calipooia Brewery in Albany – around ten miles distance.

For some reason the schedule is not as clear as previous years. But the last two years I’ve gone there have been kid events, home owner trainings, and someone from the state of Oregon gave a fantastic lecture on peak oil and how we’re living it. It’s good stuff.
If some people want to sample some beer on a ride, follow beercentury on twitter. And get to Green Dragon at 11:30.

Put in a wild, wet and windy 100 miles today- riding a two-wheeled lightning rod on Council Crest in an electrical storm was probably not the brightest thing I’ve done recently

Had a great time on the Easy Rider Bike Boulevard Boogie. About 17 or so showed up. We had a mostly sunny ride and it didn’t start raining until we were locking up our bikes at the 5th Quadrant.
Huge thanks to Greg Raisman for taking the time out of his busy schedule to show us a bit of what goes into making Portland such a bikable city.

We at Sock Dreams were surprised and delighted to be paid a visit by the Pretty Dress Riders this afternoon!! Thanks so much for stopping by. Pretty knee high and over-the-knee socks are a great complement to a pretty dress. 😀

Just wanted to say I’ve been loving reading your blog, even though I’m not in PDX. We (the both of us who run our local Fort Worth, Texas-based urbanism, transit, and cycling blog) are heading to Portland next week for a half-vaction/half-urbanism & transit research trip and we’re really looking forward to seeing the bike culture in your city.
