I wanted to notify you of a benefit fundraiser coming up this Sunday for Eric Davidson, the bicyclist injured May 10 while biking near the Safeway supermarket on Fremont Street in Northeast Portland. The event is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10, at Fremont Ridge Bar and Grill, 5103 N.E. Fremont Street, Portland, Ore. There will be a silent auction and barbecue, with the net proceeds going to the Davidson family.
Any press you can give this event would be greatly appreciated. Tickets are $10 at the door, which entitles holders to bid on any of the auction items and eat free at the all-you-can-eat barbecue. Auction items include a Sun-brand Boardwalk cruiser bicycle, lawn power mower and more. BTW, you can check out Eric Davidson’s recovery progress at his wife’s blog, http://aceanderic.wordpress.com/.
NOTE: At BikePortland, we love your comments. We love them so much that we devote many hours every week to read them and make sure they are productive, inclusive, and supportive (heck, sometimes we even fix your typos!). That doesn't mean you can't disagree with someone. It means you must do it with tact and respect. This is our business and we do not tolerate mean commenters who add nothing of value to the discussion. Unfortunately, we are not robots and we don't always catch everything. You can help by notifying us if you see inappropriate comments. Thanks! — Jonathan and Michael
