This year, the Portland Mercury stepped up to partner with Shift’s Pedalpalooza event (the 2+ week, 200+ event biking extravaganza that starts today!).
The Mercury is helping Shift with their big Dance Party on Saturday night and they’re distributing the official Pedalpalooza Calendar in their “Bike Issue” that just hit the streets this morning.
If you haven’t checked out the Mercury this week, do it now! Here’s a rundown of the bikey features:
My Two Bikey Portlands

Bike… to the Future!
Reporter Amy J. Ruiz delves into Portland’s Platinum status and asks, “What’s next?”
Bike of the Future!
Read what a few of Portland’s handmade bike builders have to say about the bike of the future (compiled by Sacha White of Vanilla Bicycles).
Know Your Brights
A bit of bike fashion help from the Mercury.
How to Properly Cuff Your Right Pant Leg
If you’re new to the whole bike thing, this is a good primer.
The Pedal Principle
A look at Portland’s bike-friendly businesses (including mine!) by reporter Matt Davis.
Cheers to the Mercury for jumping head first into the bike scene!
