Slideshow: Voodoo Doughnut Parade

On Friday, a massive parade of Portlanders helped Voodoo Doughnut celebrate their new store opening. And, not surprisingly, many of them showed up on bikes.
Among the crowd was an eclectic and interesting mix of people and vehicles -- from roller derby girls to a fleet of hearses. Even Mayor Potter and his wife showed up and seemed to be enjoying themselves.
One friend said that someone stopped in traffic, waiting for the procession to go by, asked "What is this? A peace march?", to which the reply was, "No, it's for the opening of a doughnut shop!" Only in Portland.
For a few shots of the crowd, check out my slideshow below (20 images - photo gallery).

The future is here, indeed!
RecommendedAnyone know what kind of bike that is in the top photo? I\'ve been looking for something exactly like it.

Recommended[...] Voodoo Doughnuts Too A delicious Portland landmark has added a second site. Nothing wrong with the very convenient and walkable downtown location, but cyclists will find that Voodoo Doughnuts’ new eastside location hits the bicycle-parking sweet spot. (Sadly, the Annual Meeting wasn’t held early enough for the grand parade.) [...]
