BTA in City Hall, reports record-setting response

Posted by Jonathan Maus (Publisher/Editor) on April 26th, 2007 at 1:45 pm

Michelle Poyourow and Scott Bricker of the BTA have spent most of the day in City Hall, working to find a solution to get our Bicycle Master Plan Update process back into the budget.

Michelle just updated their blog and reported that the Mayor's office received a record amount of 300 unique phone calls and emails about this issue.

She also says,

"If you haven't written, it's definitely not too late. Now we have to get the funds back into the budget as an amendment, and that means we need to get the other City Commissioners behind it. Please email them and ask them to support $100,000 for the Bicycle Master Plan update."

Michelle is urging us to continue to contact Commissioners Sten, Saltzman, and the Mayor's office about this.

She didn't mention Commissioner Leonard or Adams, so I wonder if they've got support from them all wrapped up?

I hope to hear the full story from Michelle later today. Stay tuned.
