I’m very excited to announce that my new postcards are available at bike shops throughout Portland. You might remember that I showed up to BikeCraft in December with postcards. Since then I have redesigned them, sourced a new printer, and commissioned a few postcard racks made out of bike parts to display them in (see photo).
The rack was made by Matt Cartwright of Cartwright Design, the same guy responsible for the bike people on the roof of River City Bicycles and many other bikey sculptures around town.
This initial set of five designs were selected from my photo archive of the Portland bike scene. The five designs feature; the Zoobomb Pile, local bike tattoos, a Fall scene off Broadway, a bike gang on Mississippi Street, and a scene from Chunkathalon. You can see all five designs on the Postcards page.
I like to send them as thank-you or follow-up notes to meetings (I sent the Zoobomb one to Commander Bill Sinnott when he retired). You can frame them, use them as bookmarks, send them to out-of-town friends and family, or whatever.
They’re 4X6, printed on stiff card stock paper with a nice satin finish (not matte but not glossy either) and they have a bit of text on the back side that describes the image.
They sell for $1-$1.50 each or $5-6 (depending on where you get them) for a 5-pack tied with an inner tube.
