Shift jerseys in the works

Posted by Jonathan Maus (Publisher/Editor) on April 25th, 2006 at 12:55 am

[Relax, it's just a mock-up.]

Volunteers with Shift to Bikes - the local group behind Pedalpalooza, Breakfast on the Bridges, and bike moves - aren't usually seen wearing lycra. But Patrick Bardel hopes to change all that.

He's working with a friend (who designs shoes for Nike) to produce the first-ever Shift jersey. The design on the right is just a rought draft and they won't be available for a few months...but I have a hunch these will be popular, so I wanted to put them on your radar screen.

Patrick brought the idea to a recent Shift meeting and nearly everyone in the room wanted one (or two!). Profits from jersey sales will go directly to Shift and according to Patrick, the price will be very reasonable. He's currently looking for advertisers. For more info on the jerseys contact Patrick at patrickb@portlandrainbarrels.com (he's also listed in the phone book).

You know what would be awesome-er is if it was a t-shirt jesrsey. I know it doesn't have all the space age properties of lycra (and I'm not above wearing spandex), but the t-shirts designed with zippers and pockets like a standard jersey are super comfy and a lot more casual.

Just my two cents. . .

    Here's a great addition.
    On the back print-
"All bike fun, all the time."

Personally, I quite enjoy the shirts which read, "Put the fun between your legs"!
