Stolen: White Cannondale

[submitted by Tom Lasher]

My cannondale single speed bike was stolen in North Portland last night (on Amherst Street). The bike was white with blue “Cannondale” lettering and the little american flag above the “Made in US” was partially chipped off. The back wheel was only a year old - a Velocity wheel with White Industries Eccentric hub.

I wouldn’t be posting about the bike if not for the fact I’m so attached to it… I’ve had it for over 16 years. I bought it in 1989 (my
senior year in high school) with money saved from summer jobs, I’ve upgraded it over the years, and have put many, many hours into its maintenance.. I have heaps of memories of the times spent riding that bike in the company of good friends… And it’s like an old friend, itself (as much as a “thing” can be a friend).

Anyway, please let me know if any of you happen to see this bike. I’ve got a $500 deductible on my renters insurance - and will give that to the person who took/recovers my bike no questions asked.

Hello - I've withdrawn the $500 reward for recovery of my bike. I need a bike for transportation and couldn't wait for this one to turn up. I would still greatly appreciate its return, but given that i just bought a new bike, i cannot afford to shell out $500 to get my old one back.
