A “super” time at Breakfast on the Bridges

Breakfast on the Bridges - October
Breakfast on the Bridges - October

On the last Friday of every month, volunteers from Shift do Breakfast on the Bridges. They set up free pastries and coffee on the Hawthorne and Broadway Bridges and greet bike commuters with a smile.

This month Southeast Uplift joined in with a bike safety awareness rally. They showed up with bike safety signs and held them high for all the motorists entering downtown on the West side of the Hawthorne Bridge. It was great to see KOIN TV show up and beam the story back to the viewers at home.

Meanwhile, over on the Broadway Bridge, “Captain Pastry (seen on the right)” was busy charging up weary commuters and passing out superhero trading cards to everyone in costume.

If you want to see more of the action - including a gratuitous sex scene (OK, they were only making out) - check out the rest of my photos.
