City of Portland employee Janis McDonald (you may remember her from this recent story in the Oregonian) got married on Saturday up on Council Crest. After the ceremony, she rode down the hill on a tandem with her new hubby to the reception. Very cool. Janis was nice enough to share these photos and this great quote:

“What a perfect day! After the ceremony, we had a mini parade of 12 adults and 4 kids meander down to our reception. We
rode everything from single bikes to triple tandems to a trike pulling kids. It was quite an adventure…signifying the uphills, downhills, spills and joys of life, cycling and marriage.”

Congratulations Janis!

…and while we’re on the subject of marriage and bikes…check out this photo from the Multnomah County Bike Fair!

    Congratulations!

I attended a bicycle wedding, and a very exciting one at that, last July in Vancouver, BC. Pictures at http://pix.qousqo.us/thumbnails.php?album=5 -- check out the side-by-side recumbent tandem, and the enormous mass of cyclists in the wedding procession.

I am planning our wedding, and a bike ride, I am new to Portland and would love any tips on dresses that work for riding off into the sunset in, and any great locations?!!! I hope you are as happy as you looked in the pics.

Any bike/wedding tips are greatly appreciated.

    Michelle
